Abstract


I have been struck recently how many times the topic of survivorship is coming up at cancer meetings and conferences. We have never been at the point we are at present, in regards to the number of individuals who have been diagnosed and treated for cancer and who are living longer with controlled disease or no clinical evidence of disease. And this cadre of individuals is growing day by day, as advances in science and technology contribute to the early identification and treatment of cancer. This situation places us in an excellent position to learn from these individuals about where there are gaps in care and to explore ideas for improving care delivery and support.
