Évaluation de la stomatite: affinage du système de classification des stades de la stomatite du Western Consortium for Cancer Nursing Research (WCCNR)

Abstract


Cette étude avait pour but de parfaire le système de classification des stades de la stomatite élaboré par le Western Consortium for Cancer Nursing Research (WCCNR). Cinquante-six patients adultes y ont participé. Dans 96,4 % des cas, le stade a fait l’objet d’une détermination exacte lorsqu’on se servait de l’ensemble des huit descripteurs. Cependant, lorsqu’on employait seulement les lésions, la couleur et les saignements, on déterminait encore 92,9 % des cas avec exactitude. On s’est fondé sur les résultats de cette étude pour limiter les descripteurs du système de classification des stades de la stomatite aux lésions, à la couleur et aux saignements.
