Editorial: Living through uncertain times

Abstract

And so, another year begins. What will it bring to our doorsteps?

I had originally planned to write this editorial about the relief of moving beyond the pandemic. I thought we had begun to feel like a return to normal was in the near future, as our communities and social events gradually opened up. But a new variant, known as Omicron, has thrust us back into a state of uncertainty and fear. Once again, we are facing a situation of not knowing what is ahead, what impact this new variant is apt to have on us and trying to live without the needed information to guide our decisions.
