Combler les lacunes : Prédicteurs sociodémographiques et médicaux des besoins en santé sexuelle et autres besoins en soins de soutien, et désir de recevoir de l’aide chez des survivantes d’un cancer gynécologique

Abstract


Objectif : Le but de cette étude était d’évaluer les prédicteurs des besoins en soins de soutien et la réceptivité de l’aide chez les patientes atteintes de cancer gynécologique.

Méthode : Un échantillon de 113 survivantes d’un cancer gynéco- logique a rempli une évaluation sur les besoins et le désir de rece- voir de l’aide. On a ensuite eu recours à des analyses de régression pour établir les prédicteurs sociodémographiques et médicaux des patientes de même que leur désir de recevoir de l’aide.

Résultats : Le jeune âge et le court laps de temps écoulé depuis les traitements ont constitué les plus solides prédicteurs de nombreux besoins non comblés. Le jeune âge et la chimiothérapie se sont révélés les plus grands prédicteurs de besoins en matière de santé sexuelle. Le court laps de temps écoulé depuis le traitement a été 

cerné comme prédicteur de la réceptivité à l’offre d’aide en présence de besoins de nature informationnelle.

Conclusion : Les besoins post-traitement non comblés varient et peuvent être supérieurs chez les survivantes plus jeunes et traitées depuis peu. La chimiothérapie peut contribuer à de plus grands besoins en matière de santé sexuelle.
