Améliorer l’équité des soins oncologiques : revue approfondie des expériences des patients LGBTQIAPN+
Abstract
Cette plongée dans la littérature s’attarde sur les études qui analysent les expériences des personnes LGBTQIAPN+ atteintes du cancer, et souligne les contextes de soins diversifiés et difficiles existant pour ces patients. Par l’entremise d’une revue narrative, la présente recherche examine les expériences des personnes LGBTQIAPN+ atteintes du cancer et fait la lumière sur des résultats et des orientations de recherche futures primordiaux pour le domaine. Fondée sur une recherche approfondie dans des bases de données, notre propre étude a permis d’entrevoir plusieurs thèmes essentiels. Les auteurs ont remarqué de la discrimination et des préjugés, ainsi que des barrières à l’accès rapide aux traitements standards. Des entraves, comme des problèmes de santé mentale, des réseaux de soutien social insuffisants, des difficultés dans les soins de survivance et les soins à long terme, et des facteurs biologiques propres aux personnes transgenres qui prennent des hormones ont aussi été soulignés. Ces éléments mettent en lumière les endroits où on pourrait établir des interventions, des politiques et des structures de soutien nécessaires, toutes visant à améliorer l’équité des soins oncologiques pour les personnes LGBTQIAPN+ qui naviguent dans le paysage complexe du cancer.
